Update regarding Covid-19

In order to ensure the health of our customers and staff, Kourites Car Rentals in Crete accurately follows all the health protocols issued by the Greek Ministry of Health regarding the operation of car rental companies. We are also closely monitoring the news, information and advice from the World Health Organization in order to protect, as well as to contribute to the interruption of the transmission chain.

Your safety, as well as the safety of our people, is our #1 priority!

In addition to the reinforced vehicle cleaning measures we have already implemented, with the systematic use of disinfectant agents, we are also currently deploying extra measures in our stations:

Systematic desk disinfection between each customer
“Zero contact” policy (vehicle key sealed in an envelope once disinfected).
Social distancing guidelines implemented
Much importance is being given to the cleaning of the cars, as all cars are being sterilized internally and externally at the end of each rental, for the safety of the next client.
All the personnel and members of the company are provided with the necessary equipment (masks, gloves, antiseptic gel). Every client will receive an antiseptic substance before renting the car to avoid contamination of car surfaces

Travel Restrictions regarding number of passengers in a car

The following restrictions regarding number of passengers per car have been ordered by the Greek Government and the General Secretariat for Civil Protection:

For cars up to seven (7) seats: up to 3 total (driver and passengers)
For cars of eight (8) or nine (9) seats: up to 4 total (driver and passengers)

These restrictions do not apply for families with children up to the age of 18.

Information relating to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

As the impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve, please know that we remain committed to providing you with the exceptional experience and service you expect from Autohellas – Thrifty.

We are in communication with relevant authorities regarding coronavirus (Covid-19), and we are taking all necessary precautionary measures in order to protect our clients, employees and suppliers, as well as contributing to the interruption of the transmission chain.

More specifically,

The Company follows thorough cleaning procedures for each vehicle after every rental.
Specific guidelines have been issued by the company’s management to all employees involved in the process of vehicle delivery and collection for prevention and protection against Coronavirus based on the relevant authorities’ directions.
All of our branches are equipped with antibacterial materials (wipes, gel) which will be available for all customers.
In the event of a coronavirus affected client or employee involved in the day to day vehicle procedures and operations, the company has set up a process for immediate disinfection of the vehicle and facility, as well as proceeding with the relevant medical inspection of all employees that have been involved in the renting procedure.
In addition, a Crisis Management plan has been organised in the event of a Coronavirus incident in the Company’s Head Offices and branches.

It is also noted that any information with regards to possible incidents of Coronavirus are solely handled by the National Public Health Organization (NPHO) and the General Secretariat for Civil Protection (GSCP).

How are cars cleaned if a renter is a confirmed or suspected of having COVID-19?

We have implemented new cleaning protocols that include removing the vehicle from circulation and disinfecting through a certified third party in the case where a customer is suspected or known to have COVID-19.
