Hersonissos

The small tourist village of Hersonissos is situated 20 km east of Heraklion Airport and west of Agios Nikolaos. In fact, what is usually known as Hersonissos is its peninsula and port. It is part of the regional unit of Heraklion. Koutouloufari is a village of around 600 inhabitants at an altitude of 100 meters on the slope of Pyrgia. It is situated 29 kilometers east of Heraklion and less than 1,000 meters off the Hersonissos coastline.
